Carrefour (Euronext: CA) is an international supermarket group, headquartered in France. Carrefour is the second largest retail group after Wal-Mart. [1]The first Carrefour opened on June 3, 1957, in Annecy near a crossroads (carrefour in French). The group was founded by Marcel Fournier and Louis Deforey. Until now, this first outlet is Carrefour the world's smallest.
